"The Now"

They say your life flies by

They say you'll regret wishing for everything to go faster

Knowing that, why do we still do it?

As much as I'm ready

To move on with my life

I want to cherish the now

Let it go by slow

But it won't slow down

I can't slow down

I'm 20 years old

That's nothing, I know

But to me

It means a chapter of my life is over

And I can't get it back

It means I'm closer to starting my life

Getting done with school

Marriage, kids, everything

And I'm so excited

But what if that goes by just as fast?

They say it feels like the blink of an eye

When your kids grow up and move out of the house

That's terrifying 

I'm so looking forward but so afraid

So worried that it'll be over in a flash
But I'll keep my head up
And stop wishing for the days to fly by
To get to what lies ahead
I'm gonna slow down
Enjoy the now
And breathe.
