First (not to imply there will be more) Video Blog

Mishaps of The Day...Starring myself and Lindsay Bartlette Allen

Lindsay-"So, you wanna go to Brighton Beach?"
Me-"Sure!"
[TIME- 11:30AM]
So we went to the grocery store across the street (AKA the Food Emporium) to get snacks.
...
Arrived at Lexington Avenue/59th Street station.
[TIME- 12:00PM]
....
.....
....
N train pulls away as we walk up.
R train arrives.
R train arrives.
Still no Q.
[TIME- 12:25PM]
Lindsay-"What the f@*% is happening? Is the Q running?"
...
..
R train arrives.
We get on.
...
Get off at Herald Square, still waiting for the Q.
We contemplate trying to catch the B train in another part of the station...
Q train arrives.
[TIME- 12:40PM]
In unison-"Oh thank GOD"
1 hour train ride...
Arrive at Brighton Beach subway stop.
[TIME- 1:35PM]
Lindsay suggests we get food at one of the places on the beach, so we walk there.
We select the only reasonably priced food place and walk up to order.
Lindsay-"I'll have the chicken fingers"
Guy behind the counter-"No food. Next week!" (walks away)
In unison-"WTF?"

SO...we walked all the way back to right beside the subway station and settled for something called Palace Fried Chicken. Pretty good actually-horrifying bathrooms.
*Fabulous beach time and much people-watching going on*
ON the walk back to the train, we decide to get a drink. Took us 10 minutes AT LEAST to find a convenient store that actually had drinks.......
Just missed the Q train.
1 hour train ride...
Announcer-"This is 57th Street, 7th Avenue. This is the last stop on this train..."
UGH.
Walk up stairs. Walk 10 feet. Walk down stairs. Wait for another downtown local train.
FINALLY home:)

Summer Movie Excitement/Anticipation

So, I'm reading a comic book. It has been a WHILE since I have read one, but I needed to read up on this Bane villain...I was horribly disturbed when I first learned of his role in The Dark Knight Rises, because I had never heard of him before! My cousin had, and that's when I knew I needed to read up cause I'm like a big Batman person and it's depressing that I didn't know. Anyway...I'm in search of the 1993 issue called "Vengeance of Bane", but for now I'm reading "Batman versus Bane", which I understand to be the next best thing.

Now that I've completely went nerd on you, let's talk about how excited I am about some movies that are coming out/just came out.

1-Snow White and the Huntsman...opens this weekend!
2-Men in Black III...just came out this past weekend!
3-Prometheus...comes out June 8th!
4-The Amazing Spiderman...opens July 3rd!
5-The Dark Knight Rises(obviously)...comes out July 20th!

Y'all...these gonna be GOOD :) haha

Untitled.

We smile, we cry
We live, and we die
We judge, and we criticize
We lose confidence, and we feel the eyes
Judging us back.
We get embarrassed, and we hurt
We feel like dirt.
We feel great.
We can’t wait.
We dread, and we hide
We avoid, and we lie
We bend the truth
We leave things out
We brag, and we boast
We pout.
We judge ourselves
Perhaps worse than others
We change how we look
How we act
How we feel
We follow each other
We do what’s in style
We follow a trend
If only for a while
We spend all our money
On all the wrong things
We forget what’s best
Until we see our mess
We kiss, and we hug
We push, and we shove
We’re greedy and selfish
We’re generous and kind
We’re wonderful people
Most of the time
There is no perfect, flawless, or great
We wait and we wait and we wait
Perfect never gets here.

Nameless Optimistic Poem (recite to self)

Always looking onto something else
Looking forward to what is to come
Hardly noticing what I have now
Waiting for something better to come along
But I fail to realize sometimes
That I am happy
With right now
As well as excited about then
Look up, not down at your shoes
Celebrate, don't drown in booze
Hold your head up high
And smile
Glass half full, never half empty
Be who you wanna be
And LOVE it
Happiness is in your heart
Not in the things that you have or do
Or say for that matter
It's all a part of you
Of who you are
That makes you feel the way you do
Believe in your potential
Follow your heart and keep dreaming
There is always more to come
And when you're down, remember
"The night is darkest just before the dawn"
Thank you, Two Face
You know what REALLY grinds my gears?   ***NYC edition***

......Blocking the sidewalk, aisle in the grocery store, crosswalk, subway door to have a conversation with someone

.......Running into me and not saying "Oh, I'm sorry" or something else nice and normal

........Throwing money at me*** That's BIG in NY.

.........Licking your lips at me...or anyone else for that matter

.........Seeing people dig in the trash (today I actually saw someone drink what was left of a bottled root beer from the trash...I wanted to just be like "Do you need me to get you something?" Shame people could be crazy nowadays.

.........Being late to work (I have GOT to get used to the subway system and all of its usual kinks)

..........People getting angry with me for not knowing directions they ask for (I JUST GOT HERE!!)

All for now :)

"No Show"

Light snow falls,
Dark, no stars.
Only clouds,
And Darkness.
I breathe in the cold night air,
And stare.
Is he coming?
Should I wait?
What does this mean?
It's getting late.
Getting cold now.
Calling it.
I've been stood up,
And it sucks.
